Frank D. Shutt, 81, a long time Carthage resident, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 in Indianapolis, IN. Frank was born in Lawrence Co, Illinois on June 1, 1932 to the late Russell and Maude (Mann) Shutt. He lived his early life in Carthage, IN and was a graduate of Carthage High School. Frank was a lifetime member of the Knightstown American Legion, as well as a member of the East Street Christian Church of Carthage Indiana. He was married to Georgia Shutt in October of 1961.
Frank will be greatly missed by three daughters, Karen (Walter) Harper, Diana Edington and Bobbi Overton, all of Georgia; one brother, Russell (Janet) Shutt Jr.; three sisters, Betty Kelley, Rose Miller and Mary Carpenter; four grandchildren, Joseph (Lisa) Morrow, Elvis Morrow, Tim Edington, Kyle (Hillary) Edington and five great-granddaughters. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife Georgia Shutt and a sister, Helen Houchins.
Services will be held at 3 PM Thursday, September 12 at Heritage Funeral Care, Knightstown.
Friends are welcome to visit at the funeral home from 1-3 PM on Thursday afternoon, September 12. Burial will be in the Asbury Cemetery in Morristown, IN with Chaplain Wells presiding. Arrangements entrusted to Heritage Funeral Care.
