Obituary for Sue G. Kornman (Gilliland)
Sue G. Kornman, 88, of Knightstown passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle.
She was born on July 21, 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio a daughter of the late Charles Cecil and Marian Adelle (Center) Gilliland.
Sue was married to Arthur Kornman on September 6, 1952 and enjoyed marriage together until his early passing in 1980. She was a member of Tri Kappa, Avon Club and Bethel Presbyterian Church Women’s Association in Knightstown. Sue will be remembered for her friendly smile and her sewing and alterations business that she operated from her home on N. Franklin Street for 39 years. She also enjoyed cross stitch and loved taking care of her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her three children, Julie K. (husband: Neil) Carman of Huntington Beach, CA, Wendy K. (husband: Jay) Cook of New Castle and Mitchell A. (wife: Linda) Kornman of Simpsonville, SC; two grandchildren Shawn E. (wife: Jamie) Carman and Miranda S. Carman; sister, Sally (husband: Norman) McAninch; a cousin Page Grad and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church 112 S Franklin St, Knightstown, IN 46148
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Glen Cove Cemetery with Alan McCraine officiating.
