Obituary for Rebecca Louise "Becky" Cook (Bell)

Rebecca Louise Cook, 62, of Fortville, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Carthage on the evening of Monday, January 4, 2021 surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 5, 1958 in Greenfield, IN, a daughter of the late Ralph Bell and Ruby (husband: Samuel) Garriott.

Becky was most known as Crazy Granny, Grandma Coolio, Gomey, Mamaw, Crazy Aunt Beck and “Madea”. She was very funny and always lightened the mood by telling jokes. Becky enjoyed a cold Pepsi, playing Bingo, shopping online auctions and finding deals for things she didn’t need. She always looked for ways to help people and made her auction purchases into gifts to help others. Her life was a true miracle, she outlived every obstacle and fought with a smile on her face until her last minute. Crazy Granny had a big heart and accepted people for who they were. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all of her family. They meant the world to her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her longtime boyfriend and fiancé as of Christmas Eve 2020, Donald Plain; children, Chasity (husband: Kris) Kindler, Melissa Payne (husband: Scott Gerde) and Steven “Cooter” (wife: Melissa Sue) Payne, Greg Plain and Michael (wife: Michelle) Plain; grandchildren, Cody Payne (girlfriend: Gabbi Haste), Logan Payne, Austin Payne, Reasha (husband: Daniel) Day, Brandon Kindler, Kimberly (husband: Adam) Stone, Erika Steinmetz (boyfriend: Anthony Jourdan), Derek Kindler, Trevor Sexton-Gerde (girlfriend: Cozzie Jensvold), Alivia Gerde, Adison Gerde, Candace Miller (boyfriend: Chance Podniestrzanski), Sasha Hall and Makayla Plain; great- grandchildren, Zayla, Emery, Aleigha, Kyler, Owen, McKinzie and Avery; siblings, Jack (wife: Janeen) Bell, Ray (wife: Sally) Bell, Rick Bell, Bill (wife: Cathy) Bell, Sam (wife: Shawn) Garriott, Lori Reckley (boyfriend, Brian); sister-in-law, Terri (husband: Paul) Nunn and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by former husbands, William Cook and Steven Payne; daughter, Rachelle Cook; grandson, Cameron Payne; great-grandson, Alexander Miller; sister, Tonya Goff and brother, Kenny Bell.
