Obituary for Patsy L. Moore (Smith)
Patsy L. Moore, 81, of Arlington, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, August 8, 2020 in Rushville.
She was born on January 22, 1939 in Lewisville, Indiana, a daughter of the late James Paul and Dorothy Elizabeth (Brookie) Smith.
Patsy was a graduate of Mays High School and in 1958 married James E. Moore with whom she had her two children. Patsy worked at American United Life Insurance in Indianapolis, the Arlington Tractor Cab and retired from Copeland Corporation in Rushville. She was a long-time member of the Center Christian Church in Mays. She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping with her daughter and granddaughters, working puzzles, and many forms of trivia, including watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She expressed her creativity with crafts, drawing, and she loved helping her grandchildren with their school projects.
Those left to cherish Patsy’s memory include a daughter, Sheila R. Moore of Rushville; a son, James C. Moore of Arlington; a brother, David P. (Kathy) Smith in Gainesboro, TN; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry O Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Heritage Funeral Care, 34 W. Main St., Knightstown, with Pastor Bill Worrell officiating. Burial will follow in Center Christian Cemetery in Rush County.
Friends may call from 11:00 am Tuesday until the time of service at the funeral home.
Due to COVID-19 and the governor’s mandate, face masks will be required as well as social distancing.
