Martha Sue Pike Swarthout, 80, of Summerton, SC, formerly of Carthage, widow of Wesley Lee Swarthout, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC.
She was born May 29, 1939, in Shirley, Indiana, a daughter of the late Cecil Joseph Pike and Verna Louise Jessup Pike. She was a member of Northside Christian Church in Fruitland Park, Florida before moving to Summerton.
She is survived by her four children, Cynthia Ann Myers Henley (Rick) of Greenfield, Richard Lee Myers (Jeannie) of Latta, SC, Kathleen Sue Myers Millis (Burk) of Carthage and Rodney Neal Myers of Cades, SC; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lu Wood (Allen) of Palo Alto, CA and lifetime friend, Laura Rhodes.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Kay Myers Bennett; a son, Roger Myers; a brother, Richard Marvin Pike and her second husband, Richard Renfro.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 18, 2020 with Pastor David Bonne officiating.
Friends may visit from 1 – 2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
