Obituary for Marlene Rose "Ma" Jackson (Conger)

Marlene Rose “Ma” Jackson, 81, of Knightstown, Indiana, passed away on the evening of Monday, April 25, 2022 at home following a lengthy illness.

She was born on August 6, 1941 in Greenfield, Indiana, a daughter of the late James and Rose (Catt) Conger.

Ma was mostly a homemaker early in life but later worked at Western Electric and for many years at Frosty Boy in Knightstown. She loved the beach, being near the water, sunbathing, crocheting, knitting, working crossword puzzles, and going to rummage sales. Ma most loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish Marlene’s memory include her children, Daniel (Lisa) Jackson of Knightstown, Sally McClurg of New Castle, and Ronald Jackson (Gina Hughes) of Shirley; a daughter-in-law, Rene Jackson of Knightstown; grandchildren, Jonas, Jeremiah, and Philishia Jackson, Maria Gilpin, Jackie (Steve) Sears, Storm Whitehead (Kaci), Hannah Burchett, Bethany (Kyle) Campbell, Josiah (Destiny) Jackson, and Mathias Jackson; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Jonas, Faith, Grace, Rosie, Zachary, Leah, Kyndra, Tristin, Kyler, Logan, Braxton, Paxton, Knox, and Kathleen, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Philip and Joey Jackson; a great-grandson, Darien Davis, and a sister, Violet Tutrow.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, April 29, 2022 at Heritage Funeral Care with Pastor Joe McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
