Obituary for Joy Lee Harrold

Joy Lee Harrold, 92, of Knightstown, passed away on the evening of Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Harbour Manor in Noblesville.

She was born June 7, 1929, in Henry County, Indiana, a daughter of the late John Marshall Goble and Mary Okall (Wyatt) Bates.

Joy was a 1946 graduate of Knightstown High School and married the love of her life William V. Harrold on April 25, 1948. She was a member of Tri Kappa and the Knightstown United Methodist Church.

Joy was an avid reader who was known to read up to six books at a time. She was famous for her homemade ice cream and pies and could always be counted on to send a personal note to show how much she cared. Joy was a talented pianist and music would often be heard playing throughout the house. She loved attending family events, parties, and sporting events. Joy was a doting grandmother who made the best breakfasts and was never without enough hugs to go around.

Those left to cherish Joy’s memory include a daughter-in-law, Nancy (Kissick) Harrold of Noblesville; a granddaughter, Amanda Harrold of Noblesville; a grandson, Brad (Angie) Harrold of Carmel; five great-grandchildren, Joshua (Brad’s son), Evan (Amanda’s son), Sadie (Amanda), Ella (Amanda), and Cynthia (Brad); a brother-in-law, Walter Anglemeyer and his children and grandchildren. She is also survived by a nephew, Bob (Jean) Harrold; two nieces, Judy (Bill) Muir and Linda (Al) Burch, and many members of the extended Wyatt family.

In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William V. Harrold; a son, Phillip M. Harrold; a daughter, Janet L. (Harrold) Neighbours; a sister, Betty (Goble) Anglemeyer, and multiple Wyatt family members.

Friends may gather to greet the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Friday, December 3, 2021, at Heritage Funeral Care followed by a procession to Glen Cove Cemetery for a graveside service with Chaplain Rob Mifflin officiating.

Memorial contributions may be offered to the Community Health Network Foundation Oncology Patient Assistance Fund at www.ecommunity.com/community-foundation/support-oncology-care.
