Obituary for John Mansfield Myers

John Mansfield Myers, 55, of Knightstown, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital following a blessed life where he overcame many medical challenges.

He was born on April 5, 1966 in Rushville, Indiana, son of Robert “Bob” and Carolyn Myers.

John always had a love for sports which began when he played Little League. He loved baseball, especially the Cincinnati Reds and was a loyal fan of the Washington Redskins. John also loved fishing and trips to “Camp Swampy” in Canada with his father. John attended and graduated from Knightstown High School in 1984. He worked numerous jobs including Michael Bonne Coppersmith, Draper Shade and the Pendleton Correctional Facility. John loved life! He was an organ donor and was able to help others by way of corneal donation following his death.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Carolyn Myers; siblings, Elizabeth “Libby” (husband: Trent) Prather, Margaret “Molly” (husband: Dan) Gress, Robert L. “Bob” (wife: Liz) Myers and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bob” Myers on September 19, 2015.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Heritage Funeral Care in Knightstown with Rev. Robert L. Myers officiating. A graveside service will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 - 6 pm, Friday, March 25, 2022 and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be offered to the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital – Pediatric Cardiology, LifeLine Pilots, Carthage Community Church or charity of choice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
