Obituary for Jerry P. Thomas
Jerry P. Thomas, 78, of Knightstown, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019 in his home.
He was born October 7, 1941 in Indianapolis, to the late Virgil and Frances (Sullivan) Thomas.
Jerry was a member of GHS, class of 1959. He was a local Knightstown hog and grain farmer for 30 years and also worked for V and S Transport of Pendleton for 19 years. Jerry was a member of the Jackson-Blue River Volunteer Fire Department for 29 years.
He enjoyed fishing in Canada with his family and his buddies for 40 years. Jerry was a member of the Charlottesville United Methodist Church.
Those left to cherish Jerry’s memory include his wife of 55 years, Daleen Thomas; two sons, Jay (Jana) Thomas and Joe (Christy) Thomas; nine grandchildren; a great-grandson due in March; two sisters, Barbara Sturm of Greenfield and Becky (Paul) Wills of Florida and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Charlottesville United Methodist Church with Pastor Marianne Nichols officiating.
Visitation will be from 2:00 until the time of service at the church.
