Obituary for Jack Lee Lingenfelter
Jack Lee Lingenfelter, 65, of Knightstown, passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of his home on the evening of Sunday, January 22, 2023.
He was born on August 12, 1957 in Indianapolis, a son of the late Harry Gene and Sandra Yvonne Lingenfelter.
Jack grew up in Indianapolis and attended Eastern Hancock schools before graduating from Knightstown High School in 1975. He worked in Indianapolis as a security officer for several companies before serving several years with the Knightstown Police Department where he earned his way to the Chief of Police. Jack was an over the road truck driver for Fraley and Schilling, Inc. and Pohl Transportation, Inc. and earned several rewards for being an outstanding driver. More recently, he worked with his brother, Rodney, at K & R Enterprise and Storage.
Jack enjoyed carpentry work and projects around his home. He liked playing music, building puzzles, and buying gifts and toys for his grandchildren. He was a motivator, a good listener, had a laid-back personality and loved spending time with his family, dogs and companion, Darlene.
Those left to cherish his memory include his life partner, Darlene Gorman; daughters, Monica Jean and her two children, Dakota and Madison, and Melanie Jo; step-children, Sheri Harwood, Loretta Moore, David Parham and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Rodney (wife: Darlene) Lingenfelter, Jerry (wife: Linda) Lingenfelter, Charles (wife: Cindy) Lingenfelter, Gae Roswell and Harry (wife: Laura) Wagoner.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Lingenfelter.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Friday, January 27, 2023 at Heritage Funeral Care with Pastor David Oakes officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 – 4 pm at the funeral home.
