Obituary for Garry Allen Hamilton
Garry Allen Hamilton, 75, of Carthage passed away on the afternoon of Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Hancock Regional Health in Greenfield, IN.
He was born on December 15, 1946 in Upper Tygart, KY, a son of the late Robert “Bruce” and Dessie Myrtle (Glover) Hamilton.
Garry enjoyed horses, old country music, western wear, gardening, manicuring his yard and working on cars. He owned a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger for 38 years that was his family car and show car. Garry worked as a mechanic for Goodwin Dodge in Knightstown for 18 years before retiring. More recently, he enjoyed taking walks and visiting with people.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Gary Robert (Michelle) Hamilton, Angela Kay (Todd) Criswell, Lori Anne (Mark) Swincher and Stephanie Lynn (Michael) Paul; grandchildren, Clayton, Cody (Jackie), Chelsea, Chassidy, Devin, Ethan (Amber), VeeAnne, Shelby and Chase; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Lorene) Hamilton, Roger (Nancy) Hamilton, Timothy (Rosie) Hamilton, Terry Hamilton, Jeffrey Hamilton, Martha (George) Richmond, Joyce Hamilton, Sandra (Dave) Lavine, Jennifer (Barry) Riley and Sheila (Gary) Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Heritage Funeral Care in Knightstown with Pastor Roger Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 – 2 pm prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
