Carl E. Williams, 53, of Rushville, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Rushville Memorial Hospital.
He was born on May 6, 1964 in Rushville, Indiana, a son of the late William J. “Bill” and Charlene (Hutchinson) Williams.
Carl grew up in Rushville and Homer. He worked for several years building racecar trailers in Rushville and also worked on a farm. Carl loved racing Thunder and Stock Cars at Mt. Lawn Speedway. He enjoyed fishing and especially spending time with his eight grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Carl’s memory include his loving companion of 32 years, Loretta Hammond; four children, Matthew (wife: Sandra) Monroe, Linda (husband: Kelly) Ross, Jean (husband: David) Noble, and Sue Hammond all of Rushville; eight grandchildren, Jasmine, Kaden, Dominic, Isaiah, Hannah, Raelynn and Gavin; two sisters, Shirley Barngrover of Shelbyville and Joanna Hurst of Rushville; four brothers, Billy (companion: Mary Jane) Williams, Bobby (companion: Bonnie) Williams, Johnny (wife: Suzette) Williams, and Robin (companion: Connie) Williams all of Rushville and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A service to celebrate Carl’s life will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, June 2, 2017 at Heritage Funeral Care in Knightstown.
Friends may call from 1:00 pm until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
