Obituary for Betty June Griffin (Conley)

Betty June Griffin, a cherished wife, devoted mother, beloved Nana, and affectionately known as "June Bug" by her older brother, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2023, surrounded by her daughters. Her departure has left a profound void in the hearts of her family, who deeply mourn her loss.
Born on June 18, 1946, to Opal and J. Savel Conley. Betty was the middle child of 5. She grew up in Carthage, Indiana, and attended Carthage High School. Her life was forever touched when she met the love of her life, James Griffin, during her time as a car hop. Betty embraced various roles throughout her life with unwavering dedication; from being a nurturing mother and doting Nana to working in diverse fields such as accounting, home health care, and even as an automotive painter at a factory.
She was fascinated by the wonders of science fiction. Betty found joy in crafting, particularly in crocheting and cross-stitching. Being an avid reader, she particularly adored mystery stories. Her fondness for cats and avid bird watching reflected her deep appreciation for the natural world. Her passion for rocks and minerals became a legacy she passed down to her family, just as her annual Thanksgiving side of stuffing became a beloved tradition.
Betty's heart overflowed with love for her beautiful grandchildren, and her legacy lives on through the kindness and affection she showered upon her family and friends. Her compassionate nature drew strangers to her, eager to share their life stories with someone who exuded empathy and warmth.
As we bid farewell to Betty Griffin, we hold onto cherished memories of her boundless love, generosity, and the enduring impact she made on the lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and a treasure trove of beautiful moments that will forever be etched in our hearts. Her presence will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly through the lives she touched.
Those left to cherish Betty’s memory include three daughters, Angela (Glenn) Davis of Selma, Terri Griffin of Carthage, and Jamie (Brian) Chapman of Noblesville; grandchildren; Josh (Ashley), Heather, and Sarah Davis; Alisha (David) Hochstedler; Daniel (Leslie) and KC (Cara) Griffin, Jacob and Kaleb Davis, Lillian, Piper, and Miles Chapman; great-grandchildren; Kyler, Cameron, and Karter Davis; Breonna (Ethan Anderson) and Dylon Allen; Nathan, Dave, Daniel, Makyna and Adelyn Hochstedler; Aurora, Forest, Kaysyn, Colton, and Avalynn Griffin; a great-great grandson Paxton Anderson, one sister Lois Norfleet, one brother Rick Conley, sisters in law Tina Temples and Susan (Chris) Haywood; and several nieces and nephews.
