Obituary for Barbara Jean Sorrell (Huber)
Barbara Jean Sorrell, 90, of Knightstown, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Morristown Manor.
She was born on November 23, 1931, in Henry County, a daughter of the late Claud Raymond and Julia (Rhoades) Huber.
Barb attended Knightstown High School and worked at the sale barn and concessions stand. She enjoyed sailing and being on the water, buying things for her mother, country music, Walmart, McDonalds, her dogs and especially, Molly. Barb had the opportunity to travel with the Calvary Baptist Church across the United States and Israel. She walked the holy lands and was baptized in the Dead Sea. Barb loved her job at Western Electric where she built phones and retired after 33 years.
Those left to cherish her memory include a grandson, Bryan Sorrell; nieces, Sara Ronan, Rebekah Vandenbark, Robin Scott and numerous great nieces and nephews; special friends, Marsha Benedict, Candy Bryan, Larry and Barbara Lacy, Virgie Patrick, Mary Edington, Susie Spicer and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Sorrell; infant daughter, Brenda Sorrell; a sister, Helen Riley and brother-in-law, William Carter Riley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the Riley Children’s Hospital with envelopes available at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, April 18, 2022 at Heritage Funeral Care. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
Friends may call from 12 – 1 pm, prior to the service at the funeral home.
